Balanced Mental Health & Wellness is excited to launch the CARE-R™ First Aid for Mental Health Training a community-focused program designed to equip everyday people with the skills to respond effectively when someone is experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis.

Unlike national one-size-fits-all programs, CARE-R™ First Aid for Mental Health is tailored for Milwaukee. The training is shorter, practical, and centered on the mental health issues affecting our community most.

• Connect – build a safe, supportive connection
• Assess – recognize signs of distress and risk
• Reassure – provide calm support and reduce stigma
• Encourage – foster hope and coping strategies
• Reaffirm & Resource – strengthen confidence, and connect individuals to professional/community resources

• Learn practical tools to support family, friends, coworkers, or community members in distress.
• Gain confidence in responding to crises such as anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, substance use, or trauma.
• Help shape the future of this unique community-based program by sharing your feedback.
