SibShops: For children that have a sibling with a special/support need
About this Event
Sibshops: A Special Place Just for Siblings
Sibshops at St. Francis Children's Center are designed especially for siblings ages 8–13 who have a brother or sister with a developmental disability, medical condition, behavioral challenge, or other special or support need. These fun, interactive workshops provide a welcoming space where siblings can connect with peers who truly understand their unique experiences. Through games, hands-on activities, creative projects, and team-building challenges, participants build friendships, gain confidence, and discover they are not alone.
Unlike traditional support groups, Sibshops focus on fun first while creating opportunities for meaningful conversations, learning, and connection. Children have the chance to celebrate the joys of being a sibling, explore the challenges they may face, develop healthy coping skills, and better understand their sibling's unique abilities—all in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment led by trained Sibshop facilitators.
Whether your child is looking to make new friends, share experiences with others who "get it," or simply enjoy an afternoon filled with laughter and engaging activities, Sibshops offer a one-of-a-kind experience created just for them. We look forward to welcoming your family and celebrating the incredible role siblings play every day!
