Cardiac Connection at Pelham-Pet Therapy

Interacting with Therapy Dogs has been show to improve health in many ways: Therapy dogs can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels in heart patients, help reduce the amount of Medic*tion some people need to manage medical conditions, boost the immune system, increase the pain threshold, improve motivation for activities (including exercise and social interaction), elevate mood, and decrease feelings of depression, loneliness, and feelings of isolation. Cardiac Connection is a monthly community group that supports people of all ages who have experienced a cardiovascular event such as a heart attack or stroke, had surgery related to the heart or are at risk for heart disease. Relevant topics and speakers vary each month. Bring your lunch and a friend!
