Deductive tasting fundamentals with Nick Davis, Master Sommelier

An exercise in deductive tasting, all levels are welcome. Each session we present a theme, and focus our tasting and theory work accordingly.

Smashing together explosively, grapes and stems collide in a whirlwind cloud of skins and juice. Floral evocation blasts forth, encouraging brightness and fantastical gusto. Numerous grape varieties benefit from whole-cluster fermentation, which allows for the magic of carbon dioxide to enhance a wine with totally unique aromas and textures. Gamay is a famous choice, although Syrah, Pinot Noir, and even Listán Negro see this treatment, not to mention Nebbiolo! Join us to explore the adventurous and dynamic use of Carbonic Maceration, from wine regions around the world.

This educational event will delve into tasting technique, winemaking theory, and history of classic wine regions.

The session will begin promptly at 7pm Friday 1/23, and will last for two hours.

All wines will be provided, included in the $75 ticket.
Bonus bottles to share are welcome too, so feel free to bring a treat from your cellar!
