About this Event
Seniors from the Antelope Valley and beyond are invited to a special workshop series at MOAH, inspired by Before You Now: Capturing the Self in Portraiture.
March 22, 11am - 4pm
There are many different pieces of ourselves that we collect throughout our lives. Some get swapped out, broken, or removed, but they all come together to make us. In this workshop, you will be creating a mosaic by cutting, ripping, and forming yourself. You will be creating you, as you see you by using what materials we have on hand, just like in real life. Join us on March 22nd, from 11 AM to 4 PM, to create the masterpiece that is you on paper.
Museum for Me, March 29, 11am - 4pm
If you had a singular space to make for you, about you, what would you include? The Museum for Me project was created with just that in mind. Developed by a team at the University of Liverpool, this project asks what you, as a curator, would put in your own museum space to represent you. Would you put original art you’ve made, pieces that have inspired you through your life, or objects that help tell the story of your life? Join us on March 29th, from 11 AM to 4 PM, to create a museum for you.
Capture the Self, April 12, 11am - 4pm
MOAH invites you to come get your portrait taken! Participants of Capturing the Self will call on their heritage and identity to make a headpiece or crown that is unique to them. Participants will then be photographed in their headpieces by a professional photographer.
Join us at MOAH on April 12th, anytime between 11 AM and 4 PM, and enjoy an engaging artistic experience.
