Young Artist Workshop at Lancaster Museum of Art and History

Young Artist Workshops are free art activities for children ages 3+ (must be accompanied by an adult). Participants can come to a YAW anytime between 3 and 7 pm. Workshops at MOAH are every first Thursday of the month. Art activities take about 10-30 minutes to make; seating and supplies are first-come, first-serve. Participants create artwork from start to finish, with all the supplies and guidance provided by MOAH staff. Each YAW is unique and introduces children to a variety of art techniques, materials, and processes.

A parent or legal guardian must accompany their child for the entire duration of the craft activity.

October 1: The art of the cargo

Join us as we celebrate the art of hard work and the workers that make up a part of our neighborhoods by building a pickup truck collage stacked high with random treasures. How high can you stack your cargo? #rasquachismo.

November 5 : La Catrina Doll

Join us as we make a craft inspired by an iconic figure commonly associated with Dia de los Muertos: little La Catrina dolls! Come and learn the history of the original artwork and her place during Dia de los Muertos, while making your own!

December 3 : Rolling Animation

David Alabo's artworks function as windows into imagined worlds. Join us for a free art workshop inspired by artist David Alabo where you will be making your own animated world!
