Captain Picard Day celebrates Star Trek's officer of the Federation starship USS Enterprise Capt. Jean-Luc Picard's curiosity and the science that inspires our favorite sci-fi films and TV shows.Join us as we explore fascinating topics that bridge fiction and reality—like the closest galaxy to our own, where humans might one day live in space, how stars are formed, the explosive power of supernovas, the mysteries of black holes, and Theory of Relativity developed by Albert Einstein. And that’s just the beginning.
This engaging experience features guest speakers, Francisco Silva, Educational Outreach Coordinator and NASA Solar System Ambassador, alongside Keith Caceres, former president of the Astronomical Society and organizer of monthly public stargazing events. Attendees are encouraged to bring their curiosity and questions for our panelists.
Hosted by U.S.S Windrunner—Star Trek Fan and Costuming Group of Las Vegas—this event brings fandom and science together in a welcoming, interactive environment.
After all, the true legacy of Captain Picard isn’t just in the stars—it’s in how we choose to explore.
Whether you’re a devoted Trekkie or simply curious about the cosmos, you’ll discover that the gap between science fiction and reality is closer than you think.
Free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served, and may be limited. For more information call 702.507.6068.
