Capoeira Antiga Black History Month Series – Crystal Palace
Summary: Join us in Beckenham this October for a unique 5-day Capoeira Antiga Black History Month series.
Each session explores a theme from Capoeira’s historical and philosophical roots, connects it to Afro-Brazilian resistance and identity, and invites participants to embody the lesson through movement.
Every day features:
- Theme (historical/philosophical core)
- Debate Questions (to spark deep reflection and group dialogue)
1 Movement (to embody the debate physically, turning theory into practice)
This program transforms Capoeira into philosophy-in-motion, uniting rhythm, history, and community. Whether you are new or experienced, you’ll discover Capoeira not just as a martial art, but as a living archive of Black history, survival, and creativity.
