Candlelit Yin Yoga Mini Retreat with Sound Bath to celebrate Imbolc
Schedule
Sun Feb 08 2026 at 01:30 pm to 04:30 pm
UTC+00:00Location
The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice | Glasgow, SC
This very special retreat is designed to create, in a group setting and beautiful surroundings, a feeling of deeply embodied relaxation. We will celebrate the Celtic Festival of Imbolc which marks the start of the return of the light after the dark months of winter.
We will start with an introduction from sound healing practitioner, Morag (see bio) and Seasonal Yoga and Voice coach, Vivienne. There will be an opportunity to introduce yourself too (if you want to). Then we will move onto some gentle breathwork and yin yoga (no previous experience necessary) to prepare us for the wonderful healing sound bath to follow - an experience not to be missed.
For those who haven't tried a sound bath yet, this is an opportunity to experience deep feelings of relaxation enabling your body to be lulled into a meditative state. The instruments will include Tibetan and Crystal Singing Bowls, Gongs, Koshi Chimes, Percussion, Shamanic Drum and Healing Voice. It will simply involve sitting or lying down (depending on your physical abilities and level of comfort) to receive the sound and vibrations from various beautiful instruments. The sounds will be gentle and relaxing allowing your body the chance to really let go. This enables the body’s natural healing capacities to be activated.
After the sound bath, there will be a short break to have a hot drink or just gently ground, and we will then have a chakra toning session from Vivienne with colour visualisation to help us feel warm and cosy.
Please bring your own mats, pillows, cushions, bolsters, cosy socks ~ whatever makes you comfortable. If you are unable to lie on the floor, please let us know and we can provide a chair. We also have a few spare mats, again please let us know in advance. You will receive a booking confirmation from Ticket Tailor and a follow up email from us just before the event. You can ask any questions and please let us know of any health conditions, metal implants, pace makers, stents or other implants, so that Morag can adapt her playing to suit your needs.
Not suitable for anyone with Sound Induced Epilepsy, first trimester of pregnancy, unmanaged Bipolar disorder or psychosis. A sound journey should not be undertaken under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs. You will be asked to sign a consent form on arrival.
As Morag is travelling from outside Glasgow, there are no refunds, sorry. If you are unable to attend you may transfer your ticket to a friend.
Parking is available at the venue.
We look forward to welcoming you to our mini retreat.
