Candlelight Yin Yoga with Carly

The Yin practice is the perfect balance to the Yang-style culture all around us. These still and passive poses are designed to target hard to reach areas of the body including fascia and connective tissue. Each pose is held for 3-5 minutes to stimulate circulation in the joints and release tension. Props like blocks, bolsters, straps, and weighted sandbags are used to support the body in postures and facilitate relaxation allowing for disengagement of muscle and full surrender of the physical body. The Yin practice helps to switch the sympathetic nervous system off and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This allows the body to heal and function more optimally.

This experience will be 90 minutes. All of the props needed are available for use unless you choose to bring your own. We will be practicing with candle light, the soft aroma of incense, and gentle relaxing music to create a soothing and calm atmosphere. The class will conclude with a guided meditation and sound healing.
