The CAN I KICK IT? Outdoor Movie Series presented by Shaolin Jazz is back for another Summer of unforgettable, action-packed films scored live by DJ 2-Tone Jones. This year's series takes place in 3 different locations across the District, including the National Mall the first time ever.
The series continues on Saturday, August 22 with a screening of the 1991 cult classic film New Jack City (R), starring Wesley Snipes. It's taking place by the Washington Monument at the Sylvan Theater. The evening will begin with a guest DJ set at 7pm, followed by the film at 8:15pm. It is strongly encouraged for you to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. The event is free and open to the general public (this film is rated-R and intended for mature audiences).
About New Jack City
Drug tycoon Nino Brown (Wesley Snipes) and his crew, known collectively as the Cash Money Brothers, have rapidly risen to the top of the New York City narcotics trade. Under Nino's leadership, the drug operation has grown into a multimillion-dollar empire. Scotty (Ice-T) and Nick (Judd Nelson), two police officers who know their way around the streets of Harlem, aim to bring Nino and his cohorts down. To do so, though, they'll have to play by Nino's rules and go undercover.

CIKI? is a unique film experience presented by Shaolin Jazz that caters to lovers of action flicks, music and everything else in between. At each event cult-classic and contemporary martial arts/action films are scored live (scene-by-scene) with a blend of Hip-Hop, Soul, Rock and more mixed by DJ 2-Tone Jones. Since 2013 over 150 different film titles have been screened at CIKI? events that have taken place at notable institutions, venues and festivals across the map including the Lincoln Center (NY), John F.
