Designed purr-fectly for our youngest creators, this camp is a celebration of all things kitty. Each day brings new cat themed storytimes, games, and art projects. It’s going to be the cat's pajamas!

About your Camp Counselor, Katie Schaefer:

If you’ve admired the whimsical window murals or hand-painted signage at Betty’s Books, you’ve already met the work of local illustrator Katie Schaefer.

With a BFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art & Design and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the School of Visual Arts, Katie naturally blends her creative practice with a passion for education. For over 15 years, she has guided young artists in schools and art programs across New York City and St. Louis as a certified K-12 educator. Her freelance portfolio is equally diverse, ranging from greeting card designs for Trader Joe’s to vibrant murals for the Cherokee Street CID.

Katie knows just what’s needed to nurture a child’s artistic skills while celebrating their endless imaginations and interests. She is thrilled to be leading the creative camps here at Betty’s Books!
