About this Event
We’re thrilled to welcome you back for a special Wine Dinner with Longevity Wines on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024! Founded by Phil Long, one of the country’s most influential Black winemakers and President of the Association of African American Vintners, Longevity Wines is a family-run, minority-owned winery with a story rooted in passion, resilience, and community.
Choose from two seatings—5-8 PM in the Courtyard or 7-10 PM in the Café—and gather your friends for a night that celebrates incredible food, wine, and purpose. Every glass poured and dish served helps support Café Reconcile’s mission.
Phil Long’s connection with Café Reconcile goes beyond just wine. When he learned we were serving Longevity Chardonnay and Cabernet, he personally reached out, moved by our mission to empower New Orleans youth. This shared vision has led to a collaboration we’ve long dreamed of, and we are proud to bring his award-winning wines to New Orleans for an unforgettable evening of food, wine, and community.
Chef Martha Wiggins has crafted a unique five-course menu to pair perfectly with Longevity’s award-winning wines, and Phil will be onsite to share his story firsthand. His journey—from making wine in his garage with his late wife, Debra, to leading a nationally recognized winery—showcases his dedication and passion for creating an inclusive wine industry. He will also offer insights into his leadership of the AAAV, which provides mentorship and support for aspiring winemakers of color.
