Guest Speaker:
Liz Williams is the founder of the National Food & Beverage Foundation which includes the Southern Food & Beverage Museum, Southern Food & Beverage (SoFAB) Research Center, the, Museum Of The American Cocktail, the Boyd Library, the National Culinary Heritage Register, and a partnership with Tulane University to develop the university’s food studies program.She will lead a discussion of New Orleans’ Italian heritage and her most recent book, 2022, “Nana's Creole Italian Table“- Recipes and Stories from Sicilian New Orleans, a cookbook about the Sicilian community in New Orleans. Guests will also have the pleasure of participating in an exclusive book signing of “Nana's Creole Italian Tabl”.
Entertainment:
Dr Betsy Uschkrat, Bachelor of Arts, Master of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts with a Vocal Pedagogy Minor, is a professor in the Classical Voice Department and the Popular and Commercial Music degree program at Loyola University of New Orleans. Known for her impressive vocal range and artistic versatility, the impressive soprano Betsy Uschkrat, a New Orleans Spring Fiesta Association favorite, will enthrall with Italian Opera selections significant to New Orleans and Louisiana.
