Virginia Van Vliet, native Cabbagetown resident and Walking tour guide for ROM, and Toronto Greeters, presents how this community, founded by immigrants and their modest hopes, first declined into a slum, then was saved from destruction and revived as a vibrant, diverse community and one of the city's first Heritage Conservation Districts.
