Darning & Visible Mending Workshop with Allie Davis

Learn the fundamentals of visible mending with Allie Davis.

In this darning workshop, Allie (they/them) will teach you the basics of mending knit fabrics: weave beautiful patches onto clothing as decoration, or use matching yarn for a more subtle approach. Learn how to give new life to your favorite clothes by repairing them in a stylish and sustainable way. Allie will also demonstrate mending with duplicate stitch, needle-felting, and a darning loom for anyone interested in bringing their mends to the next level!

About the Instructor:

Allie Davis (they/them) is a textile artist and educator whose passion for mending and natural dyeing is driven by a commitment to environmental sustainability. A self-labelled “dabbler,” they enjoy exploring craft techniques and value what is learned from making mistakes. Their work is a celebration of imperfection and the act of slowing down to appreciate the process.

Info: Come chill, enjoy some free coffee and tea, there will probably be snacks available too. We'll have all our mending materials out and available to use during this craft meet; everything from thread, floss, and yarn, to fabric patches and wool roving. Admission to this craft meet is included with your class registration.
