A performance of shimmering strings and effortless stylishness: this repertoire from their CD "Scintilla" embodies the early Italian string quartet. Works of obscure composers such as Giardini and Pugnani, as well as the more familiar Boccherini and Haydn. The Butter Quartet plays on gut strings tuned to A-430, on bows and instruments set up as they were in the 18th and early 19th centuries. Every cell in your body will love how this affects the sound of the music. And their performance style is vibrant and enchanting!! It promises to be a very special night, especially with Denver-area native Chloe Prendergast making her first concert appearance back on her home turf!
