About this Event
Data, Dignity, and Development
Building a Continuous Improvement Plan for African-Caribbean Communities in the UK
Burning Work Conference 2.0 is a one-day convening hosted by Windrush Defenders Legal CIC, bringing together community leaders, public servants, policymakers, business owners, and activists committed to improving outcomes for African-Caribbean communities in the UK.
At its core, the conference is concerned with reconciliation — understood not as a symbolic act, but as an ongoing process rooted in truth, accountability, and repair. Through the responsible use of data and the centring of dignity, the conference explores how reconciliation can be advanced through sustained development and collective action.
Conference focus
The day will centre on six interconnected themes, each with their own breakout room:
- Community cohesion
- Criminal justice
- Education
- Health
- Work
- Reconciliation
These themes reflect the systems that most significantly shape life outcomes and where meaningful, data-informed change is urgently needed.
Please select which breakout room is your primary choice when getting your ticket
