Building High Performing Boards (Morning Session)
About this Event
Join the Cooper Foundation on August 7th from 9:00-11:30am at the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce (101 S. 3rd Street) for a free training on nonprofit board governance. Doors open at 9:00am. Light refreshments and coffee will be provided.
This training is intended for new board members, current board members, community members who are considering joining a nonprofit governance board, or nonprofit professionals wanting to learn more about nonprofit governing boards.
The presentation by Felicia Goodman, Executive Director of Cooper Foundation, will include the following:
- Legal Duties & Basic Responsibilities of Nonprofit Board Members
- Building a Great Board
- Trends in Board Structure for Leading Organizations
Schedule:
- 9:00am - Doors open for networking and coffee
- 9:30am - Program begins
- 11:30am - Program concludes
Additional Details:
Handouts will be provided at the training. This training will be offered 3-4x each year so that nonprofit boards can ensure that new board members are trained in board governance.
