About this Event

AND Capital Projects (ANDCP), in partnership with Birmingham City Council and the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), presents Building Financial Futures 2026 — a practical, city-wide financial wellbeing event bringing together individuals, families, business owners, financial professionals and community organisations.

Following the success of last year’s event, the 2026 programme expands the format with a broader mix of keynotes, expert panels, practical workshops, exhibitors and specialist financial zones, covering the financial decisions people face at different stages of life.

Attendees will be able to explore dedicated areas covering:

  • Financial Resilience — managing debt, credit, household finances and financial shocks.
  • Personal Wealth & Financial Planning — saving, investing, retirement planning and building family wealth.
  • Business Ownership & Corporate Finance — buying, growing, valuing, financing and exiting a business.
  • Family & Life Events — navigating the financial implications of major life changes.
  • Property & Home Ownership — understanding mortgages, property ownership and the financial decisions surrounding housing.
  • Careers, Income & Financial Progression — increasing earning power and making better decisions about work and income.
  • Professional Advice & Specialist Support — connecting attendees directly with organisations and professionals who can help them take action.

Throughout the day, attendees can choose the sessions most relevant to them, speak directly with experts and organisations, and leave with practical actions rather than simply more financial information.

Building Financial Futures is built around one central idea: helping people make better financial decisions today that strengthen their position tomorrow.

It sets the context for a day focused on moving from financial resilience to financial progress, ownership and long-term wealth.

🕑: 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM
Keynote Discussion: What Does Financial Wellbeing Really Mean?

Info: Financial wellbeing means different things at different stages of life. For some, it is getting through the month without financial stress. For others, it is buying a home, building investments, growing a business or preparing for retirement. This discussion brings together different perspectives to examine what financial wellbeing really looks like, what prevents people from achieving it, and how we move beyond simply managing money towards greater financial security, choice and opportunity.

More importantly, it looks at how individuals can position themselves to benefit from the AI economy rather than simply react to it.
