Leading Through Service: Building Beds, Building Hope
A Community Service Initiative by ACEL-Phoenix and Phoenix Taipei Sister City
Join us for a meaningful morning of service with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) as we work together to help ensure that no child sleeps on the floor.
Through this community partnership, volunteers will build beds for local children, providing them with a safe and comfortable place to sleep while making a lasting impact in our community.

Age Requirement:
Volunteers must be 13 years of age or older.
Why Your Service Matters
Across the Valley, many children do not have a bed of their own. Sleep in Heavenly Peace builds and delivers handcrafted twin beds to children ages 3–17, ensuring they have a safe and comfortable place to sleep.
Every completed bed provides more than a place to rest — it helps support better sleep, improved health, and greater opportunities for children to succeed at home and in school.
Volunteer Activities
Working together in teams, volunteers may assist with:
Cutting and sanding lumber
Assembling bed frames
Branding and staining headboards, footboards, and rails
Preparing completed beds for delivery
No woodworking experience is required. All tools, safety equipment, instructions, snacks, and beverages will be provided.
What to Wear
Please wear:
Closed-toe shoes (no Crocs)
Comfortable work clothes appropriate for woodworking
Safety glasses, gloves, and dust masks will be provided.
Optional Donation
Participants are encouraged to bring new:
Twin sheet sets
Twin blankets or comforters
These donations will help complete each bed delivered to a child in need.
Parking Information
Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
Please enter through the gates, turn left toward the flag, and park on the north side of the building. Walk past the loading dock to the south side where the build area is located.
Please do not park along the east fence by the loading dock. Golf carts will be available for anyone needing assistance.
Registration
Registration is required for every volunteer. Each participant must complete the online registration and waiver by Friday, September 25, 2026.
