Join us for a mobile version of our popular Build-A-Bug Workshop at Erie's first Boutique Night of the year!We will be setting up in the heart of Downtown Erie on 5th Street between State and French.
Unlike our studio workshops, No reservations this will required. This will be a first come, first served walk up event where we will do the crafting for you.
We will have supplies with us to create your very own insect specimen shadow box in this mobile workshop. You will choose the elements you want then we will create a custom piece of artwork for you right on the spot!
Prices will vary based on specimen chosen and frame size. We have insects available anywhere from $5-$100 and shadow boxes starting at $10.
Choose an insect specimen (or several!) The Raven's Nest has a huge selection of ethically sourced Butterflies, Moths, Beetles, Spiders and many more available to choose from.
Pick out the appropriate sized shadow box for your project. We have plenty of sizes and depths available. (As small as 3" x 4" up to 8" x 10" Larger sizes are available if needed but must be pre-ordered.)
Decide on a background - whether you use the paper and fabric options available at our booth, bring crafting supplies or artwork from home, or even cut up and use an old band tee that doesn't fit any longer- the sky is the limit!
Select any add-ons such as inner frames or trinkets/accessories or skulls/bones from our inventory for an extra fee. Feel free to bring your own if you have a special item you’d like to include! We have had attendees bring their own dried flowers from their wedding, a piece of a deceased relative's old flannel, and even animal bones found on a hike.
If you have any requests or questions at all don't hesitate to reach out!
