Buds and Blooms consists of two intricatley pieced 12 inch blocks, which when placed together, make a third pattern.
During the workshop you’ll make one of each block, enabling you afterwards to make a quilt or runner to the size of your choice or use the blocks for smaller projects such as a bag or cushion.
The design can look very different depending on fabric choice. Whether you choose soft florals, bold brights, modern neutrals or cool blues, you’ll be sure to create something stunning.
Initally designed for Today’s Quilter to launch the Rustic Romance fabric range, the original design (above) used ten different prints however, the striking design can be achieved with as few as four plus a background, which can be light or dark.
For the workshop you will need just five fat quarters but fabric quantities are supplied for 4, 8 and 16 blocks should you wish to make a larger quilt once you’ve mastered the blocks. This will help you cut just what’s required for the workshop but enable you to purchase (or choose from your stash) enough fabric for the size of project you’d like to make.
The design is achieved using a combination of foundation and traditional piecing.
