Join us in exploring:

The diversity in practise and culture across Buddhism. We will look at manuscripts that highlight how different cultures have expressed Buddhism through their own languages, scripts, artistic styles and traditions across manuscripts.

During the session, we will also learn more about the authenticity and adaptability in the Buddhist faith. We will look at manuscripts that reflect how Buddha’s teachings have been adapted to different cultures and across time, whilst remaining true to their origins

We will be joined by Keith Munnings, who has been involved with Buddhist practice and study since he first encountered meditation in a class at the University of Manchester in the seventies.

For the past ten years Keith has developed and run a Buddhist Library in a meditation centre in Chorlton which now has a stock of some 8000 books. Keith has also spent time in a number of Buddhist countries including teaching meditation in Sri Lanka.
