JEROME BRYERTON was born on the southwest side of Chicago on October 17th 1974. He has been playing jazz and improvised music since the early 1990's. He has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago his entire life. Jerome is also an abstract oil painter and owner of a Chicago-based screen-printing company for the past 26 years. Both of these have been an extension of his musical endeavors. He has toured, recorded and played across the United States and Europe with numerous musicians of note: Cecil Taylor, Wolfgang Fuchs, John Butcher, Guillermo Gregorio, William Winant, Jack Wright, Henry Kaiser, Frank Gratkowski, Damon Smith and Vinnie Golia. He now lives in Brookfield, Illinois with his girlfriend Jaclyn and their 3 miniature dachshunds (Padme, Crockett and Tubbs). www.jeromebryerton.com
DAMON SMITH’s explorations into the sonic palette of the double bass have resulted in a personal, flexible improvisational language based in the American jazz avant-garde movement and European non-idiomatic free improvisation. He has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, including: Cecil Taylor, Marshall Allen (of Sun Ra’s Arkestra), Henry Kaiser, Keith Rowe, Jaap Blonk, Roscoe Mitchell, Michael Pisaro, Wadada Leo Smith, Weasel Walter, Marco Eneidi, Wolfgang Fuchs, Peter Brötzmann, and Peter Kowald. Damon has run the record label Balance Point Acoustics since 2001, releasing music focusing on transatlantic collaborations between US and European musicians. balancepointacoustics.bandcamp.com
