With cost of living at an all time high, Brissy's infamous Ruckus Poetry Slam is going back to basics this April with a chump change ticket price!We started this event in 2013 in a little dive bar in the Valley with $5 cash tix. 13 years later we figured bugger it, let's regress.
In April we've stripped it back to $5 online tickets! At that price, you're basically making money.* If going out these days is beyond your budget, then this month's Ruckus is for you!
WHAT IS A POETRY SLAM?
WELL. It's an open mic competition where anybody can sign up their name to get a couple of minutes on stage to show off their verbal wares. We then judge them and there's a winner!
Of course points aren't the point, the point is POETRY! Anybody and everybody is welcome, so come along and try your hand! Things can get silly. Things can get special. Things can get Jurassic.

WHAT IF I MISS OUT ON A SIGN-UP SPOT?
We really do our best to make sure we get a good assortment of poets and over the years we've found the most fair way is for it to be a first-in-best-dressed for signup, so we advise getting there close to 6:30pm when the doors open to have a better chance of getting in!
