One of the most important additions to the market last season was our "Harvester Program." This program ensures that BMTM is truly meeting the needs of our community by:
- Expanding access to EBT card holders.
- Doubling the value of EBT/SNAP transactions (up to $20) through ASAP's Double SNAP for Fruits and Vegetables.
- Increasing access to healthy produce by participating in ASAP's Farm Fresh Produce Prescription Program.
- Participating in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program which ensures that our elders have access to nutrient-dense produce, honey, and herbs... bolstering the sales of participating farms.
- Supporting our local farms through the Farm & Food buy-back program, tastings, and cooking demonstrations.
Of course, we couldn't do this all without your help... and getting the word out about these programs is paramount to their success.
So, THE ENTIRE MONTH OF JUNE, participants in our food access programs have an even more compelling reason to get in here, get whats good, and get to cooking!
We've partnered with our sweet friends at @barefootbabyclothing to create a fun, colorful, new line of reusable totes - just perfect for the bounty of fresh foods you'll bring home from the market.
BRING A NEW FRIEND to information booth during the Month of June, swipe your EBT Cards, get your Produce Prescriptions filled, or show us your SFMNP vouchers... and BOTH you and your new friend will receive the cutest little tote bag you've ever seen in your life.
It's that easy!
Of course, the totes will be available for sale to the general public - 100% of the proceeds will benefit our Harvester Program to ensure that our food access initiatives are supported for years to come!
