Dave and Brian Bigler, twin brothers from Clinton, NY, have been sharing their passion for music for nearly 25 years. Their journey began in high school, driven by a shared passion for the guitar and the artistry of live performances. Inspired by legendary artists like Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Radiohead, and many others, none were more influential nor captivating than the music of the Dave Matthews Band (DMB). As an acoustic duo, Brian & Dave channel the intimate acoustic performances of Dave Matthews and long-time friend and bandmate Tim Reynolds.
Brian started playing the guitar at age 11, immersing himself in Pearl Jam’s catalog and mastering their intricate solos. This early dedication honed his skills and prepared him to emulate the virtuosic style of Tim Reynolds. At 15, Dave convinced Brian to teach him his first song. After learning the opening notes of DMB’s “Lie In Our Graves,” Dave developed a lifelong passion and commitment to the guitar.
Their musical synergy has been honed through countless shared experiences as concert attendees and performers: Brian has been to over 40 DMB concerts, and Dave has attended 219. Though their formal collaboration began in 2021, Dave and Brian have been performing live together since 2010. Together, they joined a Boston-based band called “Sounds of Ether,” which focused on radio hits from the 1990s and 2000s. Brian later branched out to join a local original band called “Stereo Drive By,” performing across the Boston area, while Dave stayed with Sounds of Ether for another year.
In 2015, Dave decided to focus on honoring Dave Matthews, routinely playing acoustic shows in the Utica, NY area. In 2020, Dave moved back to the Boston area and joined “The DMB Project” as its front man, and the DMB Acoustic Duo would quickly follow.
Covering the full spectrum of the DMB catalog ─ from iconic radio hits like “Ants Marching,” “What Would You Say,” and “Too Much” to cherished deep cuts like “Raven, Rhyme and Reason,” and “You Never Know” ─ the Bigler brothers bring an authentic acoustic tribute to one of the world’s most renowned artists. With countless hours dedicated to mastering each song exactly as the band plays them, Dave and Brian strive to capture and deliver the essence of the “Dave and Tim” acoustic experience.
