BRAVE VOICES CAMP : A CREATIVE CAMP FOR PRETEENS (AGES 10-13)
About this Event
Brave Voices Camp is a creative and supportive group for preteens to build confidence, connection, and self-expression through theater, movement and voice-based activities.
Through interactive games, improvisation, storytelling, vocal exploration, creative movement, and collaborative exercises, participants will strengthen both social-emotional skills and confidence in ways that feel playful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
At a time when friendships, identity, peer dynamics, and increased social pressures are rapidly evolving, theater and expressive arts can provide powerful opportunities to build resilience, confidence, and a stronger sense of self. Group members will be encouraged to take up space, use their voices authentically, and build awareness of their breath, body, emotions, and boundaries while developing self-trust.
Group activities will support:
· Confidence and self-esteem building
· Healthy self-expression and emotional awareness
· Social skills, teamwork, and communication
· Body awareness, grounding, and nervous system regulation
· Creativity, imagination, and problem-solving
· Empathy and connection with others
· Practicing boundaries and understanding personal space
· Public speaking and performance confidence
· Flexibility, spontaneity, and comfort with trying new things
With an emphasis on collaboration over performance, the group will conclude with a sharing experience, inviting participants to celebrate their voices. No theater experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to participate!
Who: Children ages 10 - 13 years old
When: Monday through Friday from 10:00am - 12:00pm
June camp: Monday, 6/29 - Friday, 7/3
July camp: Monday, 7/20 - Friday, 7/24
August camp: Monday, 8/10 - Friday, 8/14
Cost: $200 for all 5 days
