Following our thoroughly enjoyable "Come and Sing" event earlier in August, we are pleased to invite you to a concert of the Brahms Requiem on 19th October at Holy Trinity Church, Guildford High Street. Tickets cost £20, if bought online in advance, or £10 for students. Please see https://www.occamsingers.co.uk/Oct2024.
Usually heard with orchestral accompaniment, this performance will be of the piano duet version which lends the work an intimacy associated with chamber music, something often lost in larger-scale renditions. The programme will also include the March in Eb for piano duet, the final composition by Brahms' friend and mentor, Clara Schumann.
If you are an experienced singer and would like to take part in this concert, the first rehearsal takes place at Onslow Village Hall on 8th September at 19:15. Please expect to be auditioned by our Music Director, Nicholas O'Neill.
