About this Event

This talk by Dr Jennie Kiff tells the story of Bradford's suffragettes and their lives before, during and after the women's suffrage campaign. Over 200 women have now been identified as active suffragettes in Bradford but their names have been hidden from history for over a century.

At the end of Jennie's talk, the pensions campaigner Florence White, will be in attendance - to admire her commemorative Blue Plaque outside the Mechanics' Institute and to give a few reasons why 'Pensions for Women Really Are Precious, Mark My Words!'
