Boys in Today’s World – International Boys’ Day 2026 Launch Event

As part of preparations for International Boys’ Day 2026, we are hosting a launch event to introduce Boys in Today’s World, an initiative focused on listening to boys in Milton Keynes and opening wider possibilities for their future.

There is increasing public discussion about boys. However, far less attention is paid to what boys themselves think and feel, and what they might say if they were genuinely asked and truly listened to.

This initiative seeks to:

• Understand boys’ lived experiences in today’s social, educational and cultural landscape
• Explore identity, belonging and self-worth
• Broaden horizons and consider possibilities, including aspiration and social mobility
• Identify the support boys need to thrive and contribute
• Create spaces where boys feel heard, understood and taken seriously

The launch event will provide:

• A deeper understanding of the objectives and approach
• Insight into how boys’ voices will be gathered and reflected responsibly
• Opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and organisations
• Space to explore sponsorship, partnership and meaningful involvement

This work will culminate in activity around International Boys’ Day (16 May), including the sharing of insights gathered from boys across Milton Keynes and a call to action for collaborative local impact.
