About the Whip Intensive: 

Take your West Coast Swing whips to the next level. Olga will teach this intensive focused on the mechanics that make whips feel smooth, connected, and stylish—plus the variations that make them fun.

We will break down the anatomy of a whip, then rebuild it with new patterns, styling, and advanced applications. 

What You Will Learn:

• How to create a comfortable and clear connection for both leaders and followers
• How to organize your steps during the whip
• How to position your body throughout the pattern
• Different types of whips, including Outside Whip and Apache Whip
• How to enter a Ride from the whip
• Styling options for both roles

Schedule:

4:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Basic Whip Breakdown – Technique, connection, steps, and body position

4:30 PM – 4:50 PM

Styling – Adding flair within the basic whip

4:50 PM – 5:20 PM

Variations – Outside whip and Apache whip

5:20 PM – 5:50 PM

Application – Ride from the whip

5:50 PM – 6:00 PM

Recording Break – 10 minutes to film the material

6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Open Practice – Drill what you learned with guided feedback

No partner needed. Suitable for intermediate dancers and motivated beginners who have whip experience.
