About this Event

We've lined up four outstanding speakers:

  • Robert "Bob" Crifasi, a water historian and environmental scientist with more than 25 years of experience, previously served as water resources administrator for Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks Department and as an environmental planner with Denver Water. He is the author of Western Water A to Z: The History, Nature, and Culture of a Vanishing Resource, the first field guide to Western water; and, A Land Made from Water: Appropriation and the Evolution of Colorado's Landscape, Ditches, and Water Institutions.
  • Kim Hutton, Water Resources Manager for the City of Boulder, brings 16 years of experience overseeing the planning and operations of Boulder's municipal water supply. She'll discuss how science, data, and community values come together to keep reliable, high-quality water flowing to 120,000 Boulder customers.
  • Jenny McCarty, Watershed Program Manager, St. Vrain and Left Hand Water Conservancy District, brings ecological expertise, project management oversight and partner support across several of the District’s projects and programs. McCarty also represents the District’s interests in many regional collaborative groups and in communications with the Board of Directors.
  • Jeff Lukas of Lukas Consulting has spent over 20 years helping Western water managers understand and prepare for climate risks, including 16 years with the Western Water Assessment at CU-Boulder. He was lead author of the 2014 report Climate Change in Colorado and co-lead of the 2020 report Colorado River Basin Climate and Hydrology: State of the Science.
