Botanical illustration has been a celebrated form of art for hundreds of years and we're going to be learning all the basics you need to draw flowers and plants year-round. Learn three of the drawing techniques used by artists around the world, graphite pencil studies, coloured pencil work, and ink pointillism, to start your creative journey.

Poppy-Lee Jennings is a multi-disciplinary artist & illustrator based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Her work is often inspired by her local environment and wildlife. In her illustration practice, she has a particular focus on creating botanical and mycological studies in various mediums, providing educational context for the subjects she explores.

She works as a freelance art teacher, hosting a series of classes at venues across the city for beginners and novice artists, introducing people to painting, collaging, botanical drawing, foraging practices, and pattern design.

This workshop is part of Poppy-Lee's solo art exhibition 'Fleeting Seasons' and supported with funding from Leeds Inspire Fund, Leeds City Council. The exhibition will be on display at Left Bank Leeds 20th November - 31st December 2024.

Left Bank Leeds does not have a car park but there are lots of parking options on streets around the venue. If you need access to a disabled parking spot please contact Left Bank directly ahead of the workshop so they can reserve you a space. There are only 2 spaces available.
