Boston's Bees Deluxe and One Dime Band bring the blues to Pennsylvania

LANDSDOWNE PA March 29: Two of the Northeast’s most engaging blues bands trek from Boston to Philly to perform at the legendary Jamey's House of Music 32 S. Lansdowne Ave Lansdowne on Saturday March 29.

Bees Deluxe whose repertoire bends the blues genre and infuses it with jazz and funk and the award-winning One Dime Band share the stage and contrast their distinct approaches to modern blues in this not-to-be-missed show.

“Jamey’s House of Music invited us all to return with our double-act show as it was such a success the last time did it” said Paul Giovine who played drums the entire evening for both bands. 

Bees Deluxe the British-American acid blues band tour from Maine to Miami and have been frequent performers at Jamey's House of Music. Incorporating their own compositions with re-imagined arrangements of classic songs by such artists as Etta James Albert Collins Robert Cray and Billie Holiday the band has performed alongside Ronnie Earl Joanne Shaw Taylor Mike Zito Walter Trout Joanna Connor Matt Schofield Roomful of Blues and David Maxwell. John Kereiff of The Rock Doctors Hot Wax Album Reviews described their latest album “Hallucinate” as “This is what Steely Dan would sound like if they played the blues.” Fresh distinct and highly musical Bees Deluxe is on a mission to bring the blues into the 21st century.

One Dime Band won the 2022 Boston Blues Challenge solo/duo act and the New Hampshire 2023 Granite State Blues Society Challenge. The duo also competed in Memphis at the semi-finals of the International Blues Challenge in January of 2024. The band John Brauchler and Paul Gallucci began as an acoustic duo when they were both still in high school and have crafted their sound and songwriting prowess by blending elements of blues R & B and soul. Their music continues to evolve and in June of 2017 they released “Gonna Take Sweet Time” an album of all-original tunes on their own label Toneblanket Records. Their album "Hoodoo & Holy Water" was released in 2020 to critical acclaim and included in the Blues Music Fan Radio’s Top 20 albums of the year and made Metronome Magazine’s Top 20 list of 2020.
