boom saloon at A&DS:SpACE: Is truly accessible design ever possible?
About this Event
As part of boom saloon at A&DS:SpACE, Calling boom saloon asks: can you design accessibly? This evening explores whether accessible design is ever truly possible, and who is shaped by the answer.
The evening begins without introduction. A phone rings, and a conversation begins to unfold on screen between Ewan Graham, Partner and Healthcare Sector Lead at Hawkins\Brown in London, and GRAS Architect Kirsty Watt in Edinburgh. They consider what it takes to design for health, dignity and difference.
The conversation then moves to a live call, where additional speaker Gerald King will respond with his personal experience, questioning and extending what has been said through the lens of someone living with young onset Alzheimer's. Audience members are invited to share their questions, which will be put to the call in real time.
The evening closes in the room, where you're invited to continue the discussion.
Tickets are £5 for boom saloon members and £10 general admission for non-members.
Presented by boom saloon, hosted at A&DS:SpACE at Edinburgh Futures Institute.
