About the Series
The Surrender Series is a year-long series of somatic workshops designed to support nervous system regulation, embodied self-awareness, and authentic connection. These sessions create a safe and respectful space for women to gently explore the body as a source of presence, balance, and inner safety.
Each workshop invites you into a deeper relationship with your body through mindful movement, breath, sound, and rest. Grounded in trauma-informed approaches, these practices prioritise choice, consent, and personal pace.
This is a space to reconnect with yourself, release what no longer serves you, and remember your body as a place of wisdom and belonging.

Workshops:
Somatic awakeneing: September to December: working with the window of tolerance through a compassionate lens
12 September – Somatic Awareness and the Window of Tolerance
Somatic awareness, movement, trauma informed breathwork, and nervous system basics
Underpinned by the work of Bessel van der Kolk, Arielle Schwartz, Dan Siegel, Tara Brach, and Paul Gilbert
This workshop offers a gentle introduction to the window of tolerance and explores how the nervous system moves between regulation, stress, and shutdown. Participants are invited to begin noticing their own patterns with curiosity and compassion, learning how the body responds to challenge, overwhelm, and safety in everyday life.
Through slow somatic movement and body awareness practices, participants begin building a more compassionate and safer relationship with the body. Trauma informed breathwork is introduced with a strong emphasis on choice, pacing, and feeling grounded. Practices such as lengthening the exhale and noticing natural breathing rhythms can help support regulation and create a greater sense of steadiness.
The session encourages self awareness, acceptance, and the normalising of emotional and physical responses. Participants will also be guided through a gentle integration exercise to help bring the learning into daily life in a practical and supportive way.
24 October – Working With Freeze and Hypoarousal
Somatic movement, grounding, and nervous system support
Underpinned by the work of Stephen Porges, Peter Levine, Scot Lyons, Dan Siegel, Tara Brach, and Paul Gilbert
This workshop focuses on freeze states and hypoarousal, helping participants understand experiences such as numbness, disconnection, collapse, and low energy through a compassionate nervous system lens. The session includes an introduction to the window of tolerance and explores how we can begin gently returning to connection and presence when we feel shut down or disconnected.
Gentle movement, grounding practices, posture work, and shaking exercises are used to support reconnection with the body and create a sense of safety and steadiness. Trauma informed breathwork is revisited slowly and supportively, allowing participants to notice what feels manageable and regulating for them.
Humming, sound, and vocal exercises are introduced as gentle ways to support connection, expression, and energy. Participants will also be guided through an integration exercise to support reflection and help carry the practices into everyday life.
28 November – Working With Hyperarousal and Threat
Compassion focused practices, the inner critic, and nervous system regulation
Underpinned by the work of Tara Brach, Paul Gilbert, and Dan Siegel
This workshop explores hyperarousal and threat responses within the nervous system, including anxiety, overwhelm, self criticism, and emotional reactivity. Participants are supported in understanding that these responses are human, protective, and often rooted in survival patterns rather than personal weakness. The session includes an introduction to the window of tolerance and explores how threat responses can move us outside of it.
Compassion focused practices are used to help soften the inner critic and nurture a more compassionate relationship with self. Soothing rhythm breathing, grounding, and regulation practices are introduced to help calm the nervous system and create a greater sense of safety and balance.
Through guided reflection and writing practices, participants explore how threat responses show up in everyday life while learning to meet themselves with greater understanding and compassion. A gentle integration exercise will also be offered to support ongoing reflection and practice beyond the workshop.
19 December – Navigating the Window of Tolerance Through a Compassionate Mind Lens
Integration, human connection, compassion, and co regulation
Underpinned by the work of Chris Irons, Paul Gilbert, Dan Siegel, and Tara Brach
This workshop explores how compassion, connection, and co regulation can support us in navigating the window of tolerance with greater awareness and gentleness. Participants are introduced to the ways safe relationships and self compassion can help support emotional balance, resilience, and nervous system regulation.
Through reflective practices, guided listening, and moments of quiet self inquiry, participants are invited to explore the experience of feeling seen, heard, and connected in a safe and supportive space. The session explores how human connection can strengthen feelings of safety, belonging, and acceptance.
Compassion practices are woven throughout the workshop to support emotional grounding and integration. Participants will also be guided through a reflective integration exercise to help bring the learning into everyday life.
The session will close with a restorative sound journey featuring Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, drum, chimes, and other immersive instruments.
