Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist, Marilynne Robinson's latest nonfiction project, Reading Genesis, is an accessible commentary that frames the text in a literary context. Robinson asserts that “the Bible is a work of theology, not simply a primary text upon which theology is based.” Genesis's theological emphases likewise shape how we read the entirety of Scripture and live as followers of Christ. Reading Genesis does not shy away from big questions and consistently subverts familiar ideas about how God interacts with human beings. We will meet on Tuesdays—April 23rd, 30th, and May 7th in the Library from 11:30a-12:30p.
