The book follows Presbyterian minister Dan Randolph as the remains of a beloved church member, missing for nearly forty years, are discovered beneath Parkvale Presbyterian Church. When another former member dies soon after, the mystery begins pulling long-buried secrets back into the light, including misconduct, blackmail, sexual abuse, homophobia, and the complicated work of living as your authentic self.
Set across Louisville, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and southwestern Pennsylvania, with flashbacks to 1985 and an old-school Louisville gay bar, **Sinner’s Prayer** is part murder mystery, part queer Southern reckoning, part church-basement scandal, and part “oh honey, the Presbyterians are going through it.”
