Join folks from all over Atlanta as we celebrate the release of "The Second Voice Change" by Donald Milton III.
We'll begin at 7pm with the lecture "The Second Voice Change - The Aging Voice" that Don has been presenting for over a decade.
When the lecture is over around 8pm we'll have a Q&A with the author, some refreshments, and the book and companion journal will be available for purchase (20% off listed price).
There is a suggested donation of $25 for the lecture. You can pay by cash, venmo, paypal, or card at the door (no one turned away).
For the Q&A, just show up and join us in the Fellowship Hall on the bottom floor of Morningside Pres.
Please invite your friends and fellow singers.
Here is more information on the interactive lecture:
How long can I sing?
It is a question aging singers think about but rarely ask out loud. As we age, our voices change. Notes that once felt effortless may require more work. Vocal stamina can decrease. Range, tone, and flexibility may shift in unexpected ways.
The good news is that these changes are normal.
In The Second Voice Change: The Aging Voice, conductor, educator, and author Donald Milton III explores what happens to the singing voice as we age and, more importantly, how singers can adapt to those changes. Through a combination of science, practical vocal strategies, and real-world experience, participants learn how to continue singing with confidence, health, and joy throughout their lives.
Rather than focusing on decline, this presentation focuses on possibility.
