The Scented Diaspora is an interactive sensory experience and cultural exploration of the fragrant traditions that connect communities across the diaspora, brought to you by Traces of Akoya in esteemed collaboration with Thabit Uqdah and presented by Black Coffee World.
You will move through an aromatic passport, follow the cultural storytelling, and discover how aroma shapes memory, hospitality, hygiene, and celebration around the world.
General admission is free and open to all. For guests who want to go deeper, a limited VIP Relic Pass ($44) unlocks early entry, a rare aromatic blend keepsake, an exclusive e-book on the origins of aromatic treasures, a curated gift bag, and entry into a raffle for rare aromatic relics — materials that, like fine wine, only grow more valuable with time.

Who is presenting this experience?
Diaspora Through Scent is co-presented by Traces of Akoya and Perfumed Gardens.
Traces of Akoya, founded by Aanakah Demi is an Atlanta-based sensory wellness and cultural education company rooted in ancestral plant knowledge and global scent traditions.
Perfumed Gardens, founded by Thabit Uqdah, is a cultural fragrance practice rooted in Traditional Islamic attar tradition and the reclamation of Black and African diasporic fragrance culture.
