Book Launch - Viyukka - The Morning Star

Join us for an in-person India Labour Solidarity event for the launch of Viyyukka: The Morning Star edited by P Aravinda and B Anuradha and publsihed by Daraja Press.

Viyyukka: The Morning Star is a rare and compelling anthology of lived experiences written by women revolutionaries in India fighting against the state and mining corporations to preserve their jal, jangal and jameen (land, forest, water). These stories are from the 300 stroeis already published in Telugu by Virasam.

Speakers: Firoze Manjhi (Daraja Press) and a translator. More TBC

Please note that this event will contain strong themes throughout.

About India Labour Solidarity: We are a UK-based anti-caste collective that:

  • advocates for solidarities across global labour movements through a focus on workers’ struggles in India and the UK
  • extends solidarity with people who are resisting colonialism and militarisation, as well as the broader aspects of imperialism that perpetuate labour and climate injustices
