About this Event

Book Launch roundtable on Converting Ireland (MUP)

Join us in the Old Library Room at Sidney Sussex College on May 19, 2026 at 4:00 PM (BST) for a roundtable discussion about Dr Karina Bénazech Wendling (Université de Lorraine/Second Horkan Visiting Fellow, Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge)'s new book, Converting Ireland: religious education, language and colonialism (Manchester University Press) with Prof. Eugenio Biagini (University of Cambridge), Dr Ian D'Alton (Trinity College Dublin) and Dr Gareth Atkins (University of Cambridge).

The roundtable is organised during the 2026 MIRCOM conference "Common Groung or Walled Gardens? The Jewish and Protestant minorities' contributions to Vivre ensemble in Ireland, France and Italy, 1789-1948" and will be followed by drinks.

It’s a great chance to hear fresh insights, ask questions, and mingle with fellow Irish history fans and people interested in the interplay of religion and politics.
