Join us for the launch of , published by Routledge and edited by Mitesh Dixit, Fedah Taqi and James Westcott.
Bringing together staff and friends of the UCL Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, the event will feature presentations and discussion around the book and its approaches to anti-disciplinary design education.
What resources are available for reimagining design education today? Pedagogies for Anti-Disciplinary Design Education (Routledge, 2026) mobilises teaching experiments by authors from twelve global institutions who seek to transcend disciplinary boundaries in design education. This panel – part of an international series of discussions emerging from the book – part of an international series of discussions emerging from the book – will focus on the chapter by Tim Waterman of the Bartlett, “Everything is in Everything: Panecastic Method and Border Pedagogy in the architectures.” Waterman recasts architecture, urbanism, landscape, and interior design – siloed in architecture schools even when they are often under the same roof – as “the architectures,” an ecology of practices free of hierarchy.
Dr Emma Colthurst, an interdisciplinary designer and researcher who teaches architecture and landscape architecture at the Bartlett, will respond to Tim Waterman’s chapter and the editors’ arguments in Pedagogies for Anti-Disciplinary Design Education.
