Book Launch Party for Leaving the Dust and the Weeds by Monica D. Vance

This is a free event but Monica's book will be available for sale and signing. Free food will be provided as well.

Monica will be joined by special guests Chadria Major Thomas, Jessi Bankston, and Kou Tukala Nyan. Chadria will dazzle the audience as the MC. Jessi will render a stirring, rootsy music performance. Monica will perform her original poetry. Kou will engage Monica in a thoughtful Q&A about her debut poetry collection.

About the author:

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Monica D. Vance is a poet who provokes audiences to heal and grow through passion and mental health insights. Now based in Rhode Island, Monica has been featured on poetry stages in the New England area.

In between poetry performances and her work as a therapist, Monica is also an ice cream expert who graduated from UMass-Amherst with a BA in Afro-American Studies and an MSW from Wheelock College.
