Bonsai: The Art of Observation
About this Event
Join us for Bonsai: The Art of Observation, a one-hour educational workshop at the Flamingo Gardens Learning Center.
Bonsai is more than creating a miniature tree—it is an opportunity to slow down, observe how plants grow, and work with their natural form. During this introductory workshop, participants will explore the fundamentals of bonsai while learning how observation plays an important role in plant selection, pruning, shaping, and ongoing care.
During this workshop, you’ll learn:
- 🌱 The basics of bonsai and its history
- 🔍 How observation helps guide shaping, pruning, and plant care
- 🌳 Tips for selecting plants and keeping bonsai healthy in South Florida
- 🪴 Inspiration for beginning your own bonsai journey
No previous bonsai experience is necessary. This program is designed for anyone interested in plants, gardening, bonsai, or simply learning a new way to observe and appreciate the natural world.
