Join us for Bonsai & Beer, an unforgettable opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of bonsai while enjoying a drink with friends. Whether you're a seasoned plant enthusiast or a complete beginner, this workshop offers the perfect chance to discover the art of bonsai in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Guided by professional bonsai artist Alex Stanford, owner of Northeast Florida's oldest bonsai nursery and President of the North Florida Bonsai Club, you'll learn the essential skills and techniques for styling your very own bonsai tree. No prior experience or tools are required—just bring your enthusiasm and creativity!
Beware of unskilled imitators teaching poor practices! Be sure to book the authentic Bonsai & Beer experience with Florida Bonsai, Jacksonville's original bonsai nursery.
We’ll be working with tropical species, which are easy to care for (even if you have a busy schedule). After a brief introduction to the history and fundamentals of bonsai, you'll get hands-on experience potting, pruning, and styling your tree. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own personalized bonsai tree to nurture for years to come!
Space is limited, so be sure to secure your tickets early! Tickets cost $75 and are non-refundable reservations. Rescheduling for a workshop on a different day requires a $15 rescheduling fee.
Tickets Include:
- High quality pre-bonsai tree, grown and pruned for bonsai
- Real glazed ceramic bonsai pot
- Step-by-step potting and styling instructions

Beer is available for purchase at the venue and is not included with the workshop.
