The Venue
Skybar is the luxury rooftop patio and lounge tucked above Whyte Avenue — elevated booths, panoramic open rooftop views over the strip, elite bottle service, and a sound system that carries. It's Edmonton's hidden gem for a reason, and it's the last open-air room we run this year. After September, the rooftops shut and the city goes indoors until spring.
The Sound
A big Bollywood DJ flies in from Toronto to headline. Bollywood at the core, threaded through EDM, afro, tech and house — the fusion that's been packing our floors across six cities. Skybar's rooftop normally runs afro, Latin and hip-hop; this is one of the rare nights it goes fully desi.
The Dress Code — Back to School Edition
Half the fun is in the commitment, so commit.
For her: pleated mini skirts, cropped blazers, oversized ties, plaid sets, white button-downs, knee-high socks, loafers or clean sneakers.
For him: blazer over a tee, loosened tie, crisp oxford, suspenders, varsity or letterman jacket, tailored chinos, fresh kicks.
Effort gets noticed. Effort gets photographed.
The Room
A curated bar pouring properly made drinks all night. Elevated VIP booths with bottle service and the best vantage point on the rooftop — a small number of tables, released first-come.
The Timing
Saturday of the September long weekend. Monday is entirely yours.
