Join us at the Blake Planetarium for an inspiring double feature that explores humanity’s future in space and the vast universe beyond.
Our feature presentation, Destination Mars: The New Frontier, takes you inside one of humanity’s most ambitious goals: sending humans to Mars. Guided by the voices of former NASA astronaut Mae Jemison and Emmy Award–winning actor Keith David, this immersive fulldome experience explores the cutting-edge technology and global collaboration making this journey possible. Travel through the International Space Station, where astronauts already live and work in space, and follow the rockets and spacecraft that will carry humans beyond the Moon and, one day, to the Red Planet. With original music by Grammy Award–winning composer Claudio Ragazzi and produced by the Charles Hayden Planetarium at the Museum of Science, Boston, this show offers an up-close look at the next chapter of human exploration.
We’ll also screen Passport to the Universe, a breathtaking journey narrated by Tom Hanks. Venture from our Solar System through the Milky Way and out to the Virgo Supercluster before returning home, gaining an astronaut’s-eye view of the incredible objects that make up our universe and a powerful reminder of the imagination and ingenuity driving scientific discovery.
